Makoto Tsukimoto (apodado Smile) es un tranquilo chico de preparatoria quien es amigo de un energico muchacho llamado Yutaka Hoshino (apodado Peco) desde la niñez. ambos estan en el club de tenis de mesa y ambos tienen un talento natural para ese deporte, pero la personalidad de Smiles siempre lo lleva a perder contra peco.
